When you hear a scream from a scary abandoned mansion, do you check it out? When Identity Games asked us to promote their latest boardgame Nightmare Horror Adventures we were thrilled beyond words and ready to shoot and overcome our fears. The campaign consisted of a horror trailer and three disruptive social teasers for Instagram stories.

The trailer takes viewers on a journey through an abandoned mansion and puts a strong emphasis on the story-driven game where you only have one chance to find the real killer and solve a murder mystery. The video follows a group of teenagers searching for answers about their parent's murder 15 years ago in the old mansion. Play at your own risk.
To promote the board game on Instagram stories, we knew we had to be disruptive to grab the attention of our audience. We created a mobile-first viewer experience that mimicked their mobile interface. We started each video with text messages or incoming video calls to engage and scare the viewer on their beloved smartphones. The videos linked to a microsite where viewers could learn more about the board game.
